I found this little bird that had once been a piece of jewelry. It was in a bag of items that had been discarded after the gold was sent to the refiner. The little bird's legs and tail had been snipped off. It no longer carried the marking that had once shown it was high karat gold. The moment I felt it, I knew it had value and was surprised by its weight even though it looked so small.  And just to be sure, I tested it. It held true.
Sometimes, we may feel broken and worthless, but our value is in what we are made of. We are all made of the stuff of eternity, and no matter how broken we may find ourselves, we need to remember our value.
